I have a feeling that the oil price will increase more & more before Russian oils comes to the market, so that small decrease in oil price thereafter can create a feelings of development in peoples mind. How fool is the people of India 🤣🤣🤣

imo the increased price in Crude Oil Products is due to Energy Companies "Cashing In" NOW before their products become a thing of the past. Take away Petrol, Diesel, Natural Gas from Automobiles and the big Oil Moguls are "Screwed"! So they're exploiting the population before Oil products become nearly obsolete. They couldn't care less that the population can hardly afford these hike in prices, leaving many in dire straits financially. Same old story though – " The Rich get richer & the Poor get poorer "! And as-per-usual the Rich couldn't give a toss about the poor & not so well off. Most of them probably wouldn't even give it a thought!

Our Gov't are telling us the increase in costs is due to various things like the war in Ukraine, Covid19 and other things. These are their excuses. You don't have to be a genius to work out the lies, deception & stalling tactics being used. What we have is plain
GREED – GREED – GREED!

So I for one hope ALL those GREEDY SODS get a "kick-up-the-arse" for having exploited the world for so long and go BUST because of their utter GREED! They can "GFTS"! Personally I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire, Greedy B'stards!!

The sooner we get rid of fossil fuels the better, not just for the planet but think about the Health Issues that are affected by Oil related products as well. Heart/Lung Disease for starters. Our children would be able to breathe FRESH air, not having to rely on medication to stay healthy.

We will still need to use Crude Oil as it is used in the manufacturing of so many every day items we rely upon. But in time we'll overcome this by using Synthetic, or more eco-friendly Oils, such as Rapeseed Oil.

I've not included Oil Palm as the destruction of Rain Forests across the globe is yet another problem that also has the GREED Label to it! The Planet NEEDS these rain forests untouched.

But to be truthful I must say that Electric and Hybrid car power isn't solely produced by clean energy alone. Some of the energy to-date is still produced by Fossil fuels! No one tells you that when you go look at an Electric car do they? But eventually we'll be able to overcome this obstacle.

Possible alternatives in the future, such as Hydrogen powered vehicles. I for one would welcome this option. Solar power systems have been extensively experimented with for years. Maybe having your car covered with solar panels will produce enough energy to top-up the car batteries?

Unfortunately the driving force of our planet is GREED. Let's hope in the future we can rid ourselves of this label and live together in peace, harmony and prosperity. Strive to better ourselves and be grateful to Planet Earth.

There's many other things that need discussion but I think that is for another topic, like Population Control. Have a Nice Day Everyone.

All This is politically motivated discussion. If this fin min was so keen, he would have supported the inclusion of fuel in gst. This is political rhetoric by raiders and the TN fin min

Any economist worth his salt will never encourage direct taxation. I really expected him to explain how the system works, analyse issues at hand, then suggest. This is not a devate, rather politicising the whole issue. As a professional he let politics take the better of him.
Indirect taxation is the way to go- yes where he mentiobed about anomalies in GST implementation exist, it also taxes those who consume which is the primary reason for inflation. When there are enough restaurants in an area, entry of a new one will be cautious- failure of business will be high with costs being next on the list. Indirect taxes are a deterrent to spending. I agree re diamonds, gold, etc. Point to be noted by Smt Nirmala.

Coming to fuel prices he ought to have insisted and asked for a 15 year " Infrastructure " plan – to encourage public transportation, reduce private vehicle use and speeden up clearance of goods at rail heads, ports, etc. India has a fantastic sea coast and cheapest form of transport is cargo movement. Improve and add ports, knock on supply chain processes and finally distribution system!
